The rich artistic culture that is prevalent in Bucks County, PA and in nearby Delaware River towns in New Jersey, has inspired me to paint the beauty that surrounds me. I have always been in awe of artistic ability, but only began studying as an artist in 2000. Over the years, I have studied with several local teachers, but the teacher who has had the greatest influence on me is Lambertville, NJ artist, Trisha Vergis. I have studied with Trisha since 2004. In between classes, I paint with a group called, “The Painters' Collective”, artists who are friends and supportive colleagues. I have painted while traveling to Florence, Italy, Monhegan Island, Maine, the Poconos and as far away as Dakar, Senegal. I create landscape and still life paintings. I show locally and won 1st Place in Oil Painting in the Artsbridge Members Show, 2010. Although trained as a nurse (I work as a substitute Certified School Nurse in the Central Bucks School District and as a Corporate Wellness Nurse), I am also heavily involved in the regional artistic scene. I helped develop and managed Neighborhood Notes, an arts outreach program affiliated with the Community Conservatory in Doylestown, PA. The program connects teen volunteer artists, musicians, actors and teaching artists with children living in impoverished communities to help bring the arts to these children. I continue to work with this program as a consultant and teaching artist. I perform in my region, singing and playing guitar at open mic nights and other venues.
